Xbox Partner Preview Officially Confirmed for 20th November, Includes 'Brand New Reveals'

Somehow nothing Xbox can excite me anymore, unless maybe a gears 6 announcement.

I mourn the slow death (transformation?) of what an Xbox is, and I definitely mourn exclusive titles as it encouraged competition, innovation and variety, but I'm looking forward to this!

They have had better conferences compared to sony so looking forward to see what ps5 games get announced 😀

Probably not worth watching given the current state of Microsoft and their partners.

I will forget about it and get on with my life, and just read whatever summary push square publish down the road.

Imagine if the closer for the show is Modern Warfare 4 😬

Nothing from xbox is worth watching. Unless it's a new third party game. Then maybe.

@CutchuSlow Xbox's showcases have usually been better than PlayStation's, though.

I get that this is a third-party event which will obviously have games from multiplatform publishers, but it's kinda weird for Push Square to be covering this, since I almost never see Nintendo or Xbox sites cover rumored announcements of State of Plays centered on third-party games. They will often do articles on "what games were announced at the State of Play," but rarely anything about third-party State of Plays (like the Borderlands 4 one) being announced.

@Questionable_Duck While I think some of the Xbox showcases have been good, the problem is we don't know if those games will ever come out, prime examples being Perfect Dark and Everwild, so the shows tend to lean on the intial hype but dies off after a couple of weeks.

Nate the Hate has a decent track record.

If you'd have said Jez Corden I'd of just ignored this story altogether.

I'm sure Jez Corden was already talking about this xbox upcoming event, or it first come from him or something like that. Anyway the reason I'm bringing it up, is because it gives me hope that he might also be right about Sony moving away from PC games too. I don't trust him myself but in this instance I hope he is right lol.

I'm always interested in showcases from any of the platform holders, but I expect most studios and publishers will keep their powder dry for The Game Awards, which are just around the corner. If this happens, it'll probably be a low-key affair.

I think it makes a lot of sense to have a 3rd party focused showcase around now as GTA6 being delayed to November 2026 opens up Spring 2026 as a realistic window to release games in.

@Questionable_Duck PQ should cover it as MS are a 3rd party publisher now. PX won't cover stuff as they're a bunch of fanboys on there.

Not holding out a huge amount of hope, considering the Game Awards aren't much longer after this.

@Oram77 This is a third-party showcase, though, I can't think of a single game at one of these Partner Previews that has gotten cancelled. You don't need to be interested in Microsoft's games to enjoy this.

@DennisReynolds Are you saying that the people working at Pure Xbox are fanboys, or that the people commenting there are fanboys? Because rest assured, Push Square has its fair share of fanboy commenters as well. I see people using the word "Xbot" here occasionally, and saying they want Xbox to die or something.

@TurboTom weird thing to say, hoping other people don’t get to play a game you’ve enjoyed.

I was happy that Xbox were bringing their titles to PlayStation despite having a pc, purely so others could have the option to play more titles. I don’t get any less enjoyment from playing a title if people on another platform have access to it - the two things aren’t related. PlayStation first party titles are extremely well optimised on ps5, they have solid performance modes and great visual quality. In several cases the ps5 versions are actually better in terms of performance than pc.

The PlayStation brand is the strongest it’s ever been - I don’t actually believe they need any exclusive titles to maintain their strangle hold on the high end market right now either.

I have a pc and a ps5, titles coming to pc at a later date hasn’t stopped me buying every first party title at launch on ps5. But it has made me double dip in a few cases.

Maybe Fallout related news to accompany season 2 of the series.

@Questionable_Duck Both. The staff of PX are very questionable when it comes to Xbox and its why i rarely go on there. I remember getting banned for 2 days by them because i got into an argument with someone else on there, we both in the wrong but they got off scott free simply because they were on the side of Xbox.

It is not a wierd thing to say, it is just my preference and opinion. In the same way that your opinion is not a weird thing to say either. I get what you are saying but I think exclusive games give the platform a identity and in my opinion makes the games for exciting and special. I actually bought more games last generation on ps4 because of the exclusivity, but this generation seems different and in some cases don't feel as much of a must own game knowing it might go to pc too.

I personally find most PC gamers to be irritating and they just like to troll playstation gamers that they get to play the game and better etc, but as you rightly say they are not necessarily better anyway. I would prefer Sony focus on just playstation for the big single player games and maybe just the live service games for pc too.

As for xbox games on playstation, perhaps Microsoft should have stayed exclusive too, but they lost their way a long time ago. Having said that I must admit that I used to love gears of war and halo when I had a xbox 360 back in the day, so I would be interested in playing them on my ps5. Although I will get a used copy if I do as I don't wish to give any money to a company like Microsoft.

@DennisReynolds I disagree about the staff part. Just because you got banned for a few days doesn't mean the staff at Pure Xbox are Xbox fanboys. They probably thought you were trolling or something. It's not like they only ban people who criticize Xbox; I think I was banned there once as well for getting into an argument.

But still, most of the rumors he writes about on Windows Central end up being true, considering he was also the first to leak the existence of the ROG Xbox Ally. IMO if Jez says something on the Xbox Two podcast or on Twitter, you should ignore it entirely. But if he makes a claim on Windows Central, as he did with the Partner Preview thing, then it's most likely true.

People want to discredit his claims entirely, but the fact is, that his Windows Central reports have a near-spotless track record.

Can’t imagine that there’ll be that much of interest unveiled here, what with the Game Awards around the corner… anything significant would much rather be announced there.

I know the things I want won't be ready yet, so I'll read what was announced a day or so after.

These partner showcases are rarely worth bothering with and with Geoffs annual love in coming up soon, any big announcements will likely be saved for that

I will say, though, that both Pure Xbox and Push Square have a relatively similar amount of PlayStation and Xbox haters/fanboys, on both sites. I personally haven't seen such a drastically different vibe between the sites, but I do agree that Nintendo Life seems to have the least fanboys/haters of any platform in general.

@Questionable_Duck 100% agree. Most people who comment on sites like these are people who already experience a lot of internet encouraged discourse in gaming. Most news sites like ps, px, nl and all the rest also encourage it for engagement. So yeah probably a good majority of commenters on most news sites are negative or already pre biased

I'll watch for Jennifer English. Is she a witch in Tides of Annilation? My wife says we heard her in something recently from 1 of the many Sony games that all look alike. 🤷‍♂️

@Quintumply Maybe an oversight or maybe b/c it hasn't come out yet but you listed 3 games in the show - 007 First Light, Tides of Annihilation, and Reanimal - and you listed - Jennifer English, best known as Baldur's Gate 3's Shadowheart and Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, will narrate the show. - but you didn't mention that Jennifer English plays the lead role of Gwendolyn in "Tides of Annilation". I didn't know it either, my wife pointed it out to me, but I did just go look it up to confirm.

Nice! I’m really looking forward to seeing more about Tides of Annihilation. Also First Light, but I feel like we know what we’re getting there. ToA is a lesser known game and one that looked really good in the opening reveal.

I'm sorry, but I see far, far more PC/Xbox fanboys (maybe a few Nintendo too) here on Pushsquare, than Sony fanboys.
To be clear I'm talking about commenters here on Pushsquare, and I would say that the problem is getting significantly worse, particularly recently.

Maybe in some very occasional cases, I'm getting confused with over-the-top anti-Sony sentiment - and I'm certainly not saying everything should be positive (I have a good moan myself sometimes).

I have no real need to visit Pure Xbox, but a while back - maybe about 6 months, after reading a similar conversation here, I had a look for myself.
Maybe I just picked a couple of bad example articles, but what I read that day was that there was an incredible amount of Xbox fanboying in the comments section, to the detriment of others who had genuine points.

Edit: I will just add though, that it is MUCH less toxic here than a lot of places these days.

This article doesn't belong on this site. It belongs on an Xbox site. Stick to your theme or loose focus and the market down the road, just like team green.

I wouldn't mind if they ported Avowed over. They can keep Starfield.

@Rich33 There's definitely a big PCMR contingent here. PX is much more tolerable these days, IMO. In the build-up to Starfield releasing, it was an incredibly hostile and paranoid place. The multiplatform strategy really mellowed people out.

I don't have a clue why people do this though - I'm sure I could very easily go onto PC & Xbox sites and raise plenty of negative comments, but I'm not wasting my time.

Regardless of anything else, Xbox always shows up with good showcases with games that all platforms are interested in.
